School has started!

All of the kids started school today. Tom started at Freshwater Senior campus. He has made friends already with kids coming up and introducing themselves, then inviting him to the mall. The girls started at Seaforth Public School - they are on different campuses about two minutes walk apart. They have both met lots of children and made friends and were so excited when I collected them today. Noah starts at a local preschool on Monday for three days a week.

Adelaide

We spent the last ten days in Adelaide for the Hillross Strategist conference (Andy's new work) and then moved on the the AMP conference in Glenelg. We started off in Lady Bay at a beautiful resort. We had kangaroos outside our apartment in the evenings which was just amazing. We met Andy's new colleagues, who were all so welcoming and friendly and a lovely group of people. We had six nights out in a row, entertaining the planners and wives. It was really lovely, we even got taken to dinner in a Mercedes. Tom was a star babysitting the kids each night. Adelaide is a relaxing place and the pace seems to be slower than Sydney. The kids enjoyed a camel and pony ride and Noah loved the tram - you can take this from Glenelg to the city. I was pleased to find two pairs of dressy shoes in my size to wear to the functions. This is no easy task but it seems a little easier here in Australia .

Noah and the water fountains

Noah loves playing in the fountains - they are in quite a few places including the Corso in Manly. It is hilarious, he gets soaked but he has the best time.

Kayaking

We thought we needed to try out kayaking - we can see the kayaks out our windows at home at all times of the day. We had Tom's friend Jared to stay, as well Earl's sister (my sisters fiance) and partner so took the opportunity. I had a go but did not do so well on the steering and Andy had to help us out. Was great fun and we plan to go out regularly.

Taronga Zoo

We had a cool day at Taronga Zoo on 12 January. The Zoo is about 10 minutes drive from our house and is in Mosman overlooking the sea towards the city. As you are walking around the Zoo you can see the Harbour Bridge, the opera House and the city. It is stunning. It was a hot day but we saw lots and had a great time. The girls took their Xmas cameras and had a ball.
